About Molecular and Cellular Biology

Researchers find Molecular and Cellular Biology to be an authoritative source of fundamental knowledge and new developments in all aspects of the molecular biology of eukaryotic cells. Essential to all scientists in the field, MCB publishes work on microbial as well as higher organisms and on viral systems where the emphasis is clearly on the cell. Some areas of emphasis include gene expression, chromosome structure and dynamics, signal transduction, intracellular trafficking, and mammalian genetic models with minimal or complex phenotypes.

Twice monthly. 8,500 pages in 2008. Print ISSN: 0270-7306. Online ISSN: 1098-5549.

MCB has an impact factor of 6.420 according to the Institute for Scientific Information's 2007 Journal Citation Reports. It is ranked #34 by impact factor out of 263 journals in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology category as well as #27 out of 156 journals in the Cell Biology category.
